Package Introduction
Radiological Imaging Service can facilitate the efficiency and effectiveness of radiological diagnostic tests and treatment procedures. In view of the growing demand for radiological imaging services in the public sector, the Hospital Authority (HA) keeps on exploring opportunities to work with radiology service providers to collate a list of private providers for radiological imaging services which can be made available to HA’s patients (upon request) to facilitate the referral of patients to receive the service from the private sector.
Project on Enhancing Radiological Investigation Services through Collaboration with the Private Sector (Radi Collaboration)
There has been a growing demand for radiological imaging services in the public sector. In order to alleviate the problem of long waiting time in public hospitals and in response to the HA’s Radi Collaboration scheme, HKAI provides a special offer for all radiological diagnostic cases referred by the HA. We have made a performance pledge to provide services to patients within 7 days of booking so that they can receive appropriate treatment.

- Computed Tomography (CT)
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
- Positron Emission Tomography-Computed Tomography (PET-CT Scan)
- 3D Mammography
- Ultrasound Scan
- X-ray Imaging
Electronic Health Record Sharing System (eHealth)
Upon referral by the HA to our centres for radiological imaging services, the results of investigations will be uploaded to the Electronic Health Record Sharing System (“eHRSS”). This not only saves the time for patients to collect the report but also enables the attending doctors of HA to obtain the reports from eHRSS to provide more effective and appropriate treatment to patients.
Target Group
Patients who have been diagnosed in the public hospitals and require further radiological diagnostic services are the target group of this programme.
Patients may voluntarily choose to be referred to the private sector for radiological imaging services in order to receive appropriate treatment in a timely manner, given the long waiting time in public hospitals.
