The persistence of the doctor in the medical department has once again found early breast cancer.
Recently, my obstetrician-gynecologist friend referred a patient for breast ultrasound and contrast imaging. The patient was a middle-aged woman, and before the ultrasound, I asked her if she could feel any hard lumps. The patient replied that she had no sensation at all and only discovered it after the obstetrician and gynecologist performed a breast examination during a gynecological examination. AfterMammogramand ultrasound, I found suspicious shadows on both breasts. Finally, I took a tissue test from her and the result was breast cancer. The patient was grateful to her obstetrician for identifying early-stage breast cancer.
With today's medical standards, early-stage breast cancer is often curable. I called my doctor friend specifically to express my gratitude and praise her for once again successfully saving a life. She humbly said that not every patient would agree to undergo a breast examination after a gynecological examination. Moreover, if a patient seeks medical attention for non-breast problems, not every doctor will insist on carefully examining the patient's breasts. Fortunately, her persistence and enthusiasm can often persuade patients and identify many early-stage breast cancers that even the patients themselves are not aware of.
In fact, many women ignore or do not know how to perform self-breast examination. Breast cancer is very common in Hong Kong, affecting one in 15 women. Regular check-ups are very important. In addition, maintaining exercise, following a vegetarian diet, quitting smoking and drinking alcohol, etc. can reduce the risk of cancer.
It is recommended that if you have any doubts, please check with your doctor immediately.
