Hong Kong people pay more attention to their health than in the past, and physical examinations are becoming more and more common.
A general health check is valuable only if it can find some early-stage diseases and provide some basic Chinese medicine treatments to prevent further deterioration of the disease. For example, if tumors can be detected at an early stage, there is a chance to prevent them from developing into a higher stage a few years later; if cerebral blood vessel narrowing or intracerebral hemangiomas are detected and treated early, there is a chance to avoid strokes. In recent years, more and more people are considering undergoing whole-body magnetic resonance imaging (MRI scan<\/a>) examination.
As a kind of general examination, whole-body magnetic resonance imaging can obtain a lot of useful information in a short period of time, such as whether there are some potentially fatal diseases hidden in the patient's body, including cerebral blood vessel constriction, cancer, and hemangioma in different parts of the body. In addition, problems such as fatty liver and spinal degeneration can also be detected. In my experience, about half of the people over the age of 35 who seek medical treatment in Hong Kong have varying degrees of fatty liver, most of which are still in a mild stage. However, fatty liver is actually a \"health bomb\". In addition to having the chance to evolve into cirrhosis and liver cancer, it is also related to diabetes, coronary heart disease, stroke, etc. Therefore, if detected early, it can be avoided early.
This kind of examination can scan from the head to the heels, excluding the hands. The rest can be comprehensively scanned in one go, including the head and neck, nasopharynx, chest, lungs, abdominal cavity, ovaries, prostate, etc. It takes about 45 minutes. The doctor can see the results immediately after the scan. Its biggest advantage is that there is no radiation, and it is more suitable for census. In contrast, positron scanning, computer scanning, etc. all have radiation. It is recommended that people who are middle-aged or above discuss with their doctor and consider having a whole-body magnetic resonance examination so that any problems can be dealt with as soon as possible.
